Haakon didn’t talk to me but was killed by the guard in a minute after I entered the bloodworks.

Did you free him or did he get out of his cage somehow? There’s a trigger box that makes him hostile the moment he’s out of the cage, which makes sense as a prisoner running amok would be guard food.

I did nothing at all but walk in. It appears they were in combat mode even before, because I see Haakon with the shiv in his hand.
That’s why he didn’t talk to me. I tried resurrecting him after the guard killed him, but they started fighting again immediately. Maybe I have to kill the guard to talk to Haakon.
Very odd :(

Hm, after doing some testing, for some reason the trigger is firing if the player walks into it. This makes no sense, because the script clearly says it should only set to stage 4 (the Hulk stage) if Haakon is the one walking into the trigger. Not sure why this is happening now, it never was a problem before.

Event OnTriggerEnter(ObjectReference akActionRef)
If akActionRef == Haakon
DialogueHaakon.Setstage(4)
EndIf

Fortunately, the fix is simple. I’ll add an additional condition to check if the door is locked. If the door is locked, nothing happens. Otherwise, it will set DialogueHaakon to stage 4.

Event OnTriggerEnter(ObjectReference akActionRef)
If akActionRef == Haakon && (HaakonDoor.IsLocked())
elseif akActionRef == Haakon
DialogueHaakon.Setstage(4)
EndIf

The player still sets off the trigger for reasons that are beyond me – perhaps the Dragonborn was Haakon in another life. But either way if the door is unlocked there’s no problem immersion wise with the player setting of the trigger.

I’ll throw up an update today and you can try that out, but it has to be before stage 4 was set. Otherwise, you have to set his aggression to 0 or remove him from fac xx27c9c3 so he isn’t an enemy of the guard.

On my current playthrough, Haakon was talkative an contained as he was supposed to be. Thanks for the update.
