It’s the weekend, and I just chewedrank a piece of contaminated soda ice that might have been laced with sewage (seriously I feel weird if I wake up tomorrow posting gibberish call my lawyer and maybe an ambulance) so now’s as good a time as any for a post.
Monday’s update may not have much to offer. I took a small break after the release of version 3.05, and so the only thing that will be included are minor bug fixes and alterations. For instance, for the Immortal Coil quest I’ve added a patrolling Thalmor to the first phase. This should provide a small amount of tension regarding the spreading of the notes.
Ronja Monto is working on a unique character for the mod, and I’m kind of hedging on whether to show a trailer as it would ruin the surprise. I do think it will be something new and really help enhance another follower in the mod. One of the writers for the blog, Lindsey Lorraine, will also be giving a crack at her first NPC. More on that later.
Lastly, I want to give a nod to all those Redditors who thanked myself, the actors, and all the volunteers who’ve contributed to the mod. I’m sure everyone who has spent time over the last 2 years to make it is proud of their work, but it’s nice to know that work is appreciated.
It’s funny, I’m a member of Reddit’s 6-year club evidently, and the two posts I made account for roughly 10% of my total comment karma. My link karma, meanwhile, is a pitiful 37, most of which is the result of a very old iNPC thread I made. That should tell you that I am a horrible, horrible marketer, and I feel bad that the actors have not gotten the proper exposure because of my failings in that department. So I’m appreciative when people like emmanuelvr make these threads.
On that note, it’s important to inform me of any issues, no matter how small. Especially if they are small. And by that I mean typos, lip files missing, grammar mistakes. Because often times things like that will never get noticed unless I’m told directly. And I can’t lurk these sites when I have Talespin reruns to watch.
However, the great thing about working on this mod is that it can always get better, and that’s what I keep striving for with each and every update. Your support, love, and offerings of firstborn children help keep us motivated to do just that. Thank me? No, thank you.
Talespin! Also, Duck Tales, and a bit of Animaniacs.
So many memories, even though I watched it in different language. I loved all these shows when I was a kid, and when we started singing the theme song of Gummi Bears on our graduation exam from English, examiner thought we went mad (and she was right).
Ah, I’m glad that you appreciate us telling you bugs. Now I don’t feel so bad for spamming your comments section with petty complaints.
If you click on “forums” on the Nexus page, you’ll see a dedicated bug report forum thread. That would be a good place to put them.
I tend to comment on the respective quest/NPC bugs, along with any solutions I know just in case people tend to have the same problem. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone to Google in search of a solution to a problem and when I finally find something related to my problem, the creator of the thread or comment just says, “Oops, I found a fix! :)” and doesn’t include how he or she fixed it.
