So I’ve noticed that if you spam the mod’s settlers onto the same location you can get a lot of chatter; which would be fine if they all took turns, but the NPCs tend to talk over each other. As such, I’m currently trying out limiting commentary to being within a specific radius of the player.
Obviously you don’t want to make the radius too small or else no one will say anything, but 512 units, which is about 10 feet or so, seems like a good distance. In this video, I’m walking through my Red Rocket build with about 15 voiced settlers and they only talk over each other once.
There’s some unvoiced ones in there too though, and I don’t know if that affected the test, but I put most of them on farm duty a good 20 feet away from where I walked so I don’t think there was much interference. We’ll see when those are voiced just how many of them try to talk over one another. But for now, I think I’ll stick with 512 as a good distance.
Re-uploading the video because youtube shenanigans. I used the copyrighted song removal tool to remove the Ella Fitzgerald “undecided” song in the middle and Youtube just removed everything including the commentary.
I’ll just leave the copyright in there this time.
