3DNPC v3.18

zora by corpsehatch_lo_res

Here’s version 3.18. There’s a few typos and other mismatched lines that aragonit pointed out recently, so those should now be working properly. Viridiane also sung a little tune that I’ve added to Zora‘s idle commentary, just some traveling music more or less.

3DNPC 3.18

All Fixes and Tweaks from v3.10:

  • Added a little idle singing to Zora
  • Fixed some typos and duplicate lines for Lyrek and Veralene
  • Added Dibella amulet to Amalee‘s default outfit
  • Changed Berg‘s default outfit to Giant Clothes by testiger2
  • Fixed issue where Haakon and guards clash when player enters Bloodworks, script now checks to see if his cell door is locked
  • Raised level cap of Darkened Steel ghosts
  • Added light to campfire in Bards, Beasts, and Beauties
  • Bards in Bards, Beasts, and Beauties set to observe only during duel. Skjarn teleported to safety at end of quest.
  • Fixed issue where Alassea, Amalee, and Skjarn would run their innkeeper scene in all inns
  • Fixed some apostrophes that were the wrong font
  • Prompt-But-Bashful‘s inventory can now be accessed while in player home
  • Added Carmella to various beast factions
  • Removed some pops from Carmella’s tracks
  • Blacksmith sandbox packages added to Isobel if she’s in a Hearthfire home with a forge in the cellar (MTWTF 9-12pm)
  • Added missing drum file for Portraiture duet with Ygglief
  • Fixed unfilled property for PlayerREF in Pit Dogs (bug introduced in 3.11 or 3.12)
  • Added mod bards to the BardAudienceExcludedFaction
  • Forwarded some MHDT changes made by Dragonborn.esm
  • Carmella‘s skeletons are now protected
  • Carmella removed from necromancer faction and added to Riverwood faction to avoid battles at inn
  • Fixed a scene near the end of As You Like It that sent Daenlyn to the docks making him AWOL for the actual scene
  • Removed (Quest in Alpha) on dialogue to start Aldmeri Prisoner
  • Disabled trigger box in longhouse of Idle Dreams after initial use, as running into it a second time would make the initial scene repeat
  • Fixed Batheru‘s intro dialogue not to repeat when speaking to a Dunmer character
  • Made Blood of Kings possible to start before Pit Dogs. However, starting either quest must be done to completion before you can start the other.

In order to limit how often this idle is run, I set it to only play on 1 of 2 conditions, she’s a follower and it’s Sundas, or she’s married and at home and waiting for your return. Still only a 50% shot the idle will run, even then. Hopefully that will keep it somewhat rare. If Viridiane makes any more of them I’ll be happy to add them to her saylist, which is like a playlist, only you say it.

Fallout4 2016-02-20 16-53-13-64.avi_snapshot_00.20_[2016.02.25_01.44.17]

Hello! So an update on where things are at, I’m optimistic I’ll be able to cast most of the what I’ve mapped out so far for Fallout 4 by the time the Creation Kit comes out. The actual modding part will probably take about a month, so an alpha version should be out by May-ish, but a more likely target date will be June or July.

The mod will be a mix of quests and NPCs similar to the Fallout 3 Bundle, albeit the NPCs won’t have nearly the depth you’d get with an unvoiced protagonist. That’s why I’ll probably give this mod a new name. It’s an entirely different beast, and I don’t like to dwell on the past anyway.

Atomic Radio I can probably put out in a day or two after the Creation Kit release, since the hard part for that is done. The initial release will have about 4 new Grognak trailers, a half dozen commercials, and about 3 or 4 new sketches, including 2 horror ones. All in all I hope to get to the 5 hour mark before the Creation Kit comes out. More importantly, it’ll have proper time conditions and randomizing scripts.

Lastly, here’s some notes on changes to the site layout:

  • First major change is an infinite scroll, this will load new posts forever and ever if you scroll down, but since the pages only load if you scroll it shouldn’t use up too much bandwidth all at once, more of a gradual thing.
  • Changed the site favicon to Vault Boy
  • Twitter feed is now at the top of the right sidebar
  • Font for the site header is now a bit different, thought this looked a little cleaner
  • I figured out how to set the music player with an expandable playlist, this should allow it to take up less space overall. Click the button on the left to see the whole thing. Another quirk I noticed is that the player will continue to run even as you navigate to separate pages, which eliminates the need for a pop-out player.
  • I pared down the header button so it’s less of a clusterfuck for mobile users.

Granted the header’s still a bit involved since it shows every entry in the drop-down menu, but at least now it’s manageable. First thing I eliminated was the drop-downs for the forums and the casting calls, then the donation button, since it’s pretty much a waste of space. Not sure if the screenshots is pointless either but it doesn’t take up too much real estate and keeps the header full.

I considered separating the Fallout and TES downloads, but I wasn’t sure what to call it. The fact that it says downloads makes it pretty clear that’s what it is, if it said Fallout/TES you wouldn’t know what you were clicking until it was too late and now your room is filled with bats. So I left it alone. Besides, wouldn’t have made a lick of difference for mobile, and that was the whole point.

Atomic Radio – PSAs: Leisure Time

Here’s another promotional bit for Atomic Radio. I made some changes to the PSA beyond the typical jokes that make the video not a 100% match, in particular turning the piano player into a man, but it still more or less works. Not really relevant for the radio mod though, since these videos obviously can’t be shown on the Pip-Boy.

Now, there is a TV, but videos that match the original PSA are more the exception than the rule, and I also don’t really like the intersection of real life people in a video game world. So it’s more of a blog thing, but still fun and easy to make.
