The quest A Debt of Blood begins where its predecessor, the Aldmeri Prisoner, left off. Bade by Na’ir to travel to Falkreath, the player’s first objective is, obviously, to do so. Head to Dead Man’s Drink, where one will be greeted by a plain-clothed Griffith, the assassin-turned-father featured in the Brother and Keeper quest.
Inside the inn the Dragonborn will find Daenlyn and Jerulith; once Griffith and the player enter, Na’ir and his benefactor will be present to greet the group. The Khajiit’s client introduces himself as a bastard son of Gabania, and proceeds to list each member of the party’s offences: Jerulith killed Gabania’s steward; Daenlyn won money by way of gambling that was supposed to be used to hire bodyguards for a caravan headed to Rothvine Manor. Said caravan ended up being easy prey for Raynes, which in turn cost Gabania a large amount of gold. Griffith and the Dovahkiin, of course, killed Gabania himself.
What this bastard son wants, however, is not gold or like means of restitution- rather, he wants the group to kill his sister- a ruthless witch whom he says is driving Gabania’s business (which he now controls) into the ground.
The client then leaves, saying that he has other business he has to attend to, and leaves Na’ir to fill in the details. The target, he explains, lives on an island, in a converted military fort. There is a front entrance filled with elite guardsman that they could go through, or a back door that runs under the island, but is filled with traps.
Daenlyn then suggests that they pose as a troupe of bards, actors and comedians, in order to infiltrate the fort. Na’ir agrees with the idea, and tells the group that he will arrange for it and meet the group at the docks in Windhelm.
After the planning session is over, talk to Griffith outside of the tavern. The former assassin tells the Dragonborn that he plans to decline the job, instead focusing on his daughter. He does mention, however, that he will get in touch with a contact of his in order to help the player out. With that, the conversation, as well as the quest, is concluded.
