Keeleth

Come to sit by the fire?

The forge is a beacon for the lost. The Stranded. It also happens to be quite warm, which I like.

My feet in particular need a little comfort. It’s hard to keep your toes loose and wiggling this far up.

What’s your job here?
I keep the forge fire burning through the night. It’s the closest thing we have to a lighthouse. If a Stranded gets lost, we guide them here.
Now, I used to be the quartermaster, but at my age, Trevyn is much better suited for that role.
I’m a lot like this old forge in a way. It was once used to make weapons, now it serves a different purpose.

Do you really think the ship will fly?
Of course! I have faith in the Captain. And more importantly, I have faith in the gods that guide her.
They told us the rot would spread, and it has. The fog will soon descend on the village, and I have faith we will sail over it.

How did you come here?
I was raised here all my life. My ancestors were part of a hostage exchange, you see. One Bosmer for one Nord, to bring peace to both sides.
But that’s probably the most interesting thing about me. My actual life has been fairly mundane.
Imagine that, having peaked at birth.

Hellos

Thank you for bringing us the steering wheel.

The ark is so close to being done. The way things are moving, I may even pick up a hammer myself.

They say fire is a daedra’s only friend. But it’s my friend too.

With Trevyn gone, I had to ready to ship for sailing. I’m sure the old girl will hold though.

I’ve lived on this island longer than most. To me, it’s home. I’m only leaving to help the others find theirs.

Trevyn

Sera.

What’s your job here?
I’m the quartermaster and the ship’s smith. It’s my job to build the ark, and make sure she flies.

Do you really think your ship will fly?
Does it matter? Either we fly, and get off this island, or we die, and get off the island.
Both are paths I’m willing to walk.

I’m told Elder Tynne is your brother.
That’s right, sera. We came to this island together, when the Red Mountain bled.
Now, he’s always been a strange one. A prisoner to his visions. But we’re all a prisoner to something.
My cage is wanting to return home.

How did you come here?
I tried to escape the island and got lost in the fog. But because the Captain’s men had lit the signal forge, I was able to follow its light here.

Hellos

You did good work, sera, bringing us that wheel. Now it’s my turn.

You’ll find the ship’s wheel attached to the bow, sera. It’ll steer us back to the mainland.

Yes, sera?

What is it?

What do you need?

Sytharil

(if Sytharil is spoken to while the player is being escorted as a prisoner, before proper conversation is possible)
Oh I love the way you wear that beggar outfit, very nice.

Ylldraheim is pronounced ILL-DRUH-HIGH-M

Tynne rhymes with “time”

So you must be from Ylldraheim. I don’t recognize you, or the friend you came with.
But it’s been quite a spell since I last visited.
Tell me, does Elder Tynne still have that ridiculous mustache?

He does.
Such a shame. I don’t think it does anything for him. It’s so…wispy.

His facial hair looks just fine to me.
But it’s so thin and manicured. It belongs on some who produces erotic folios, not on the town elder.

It’s only half as ridiculous as your hair.
Well, that’s just uncalled for.
I’ll have you know that this style was all the rage in the Summerset Isles one hundred and fifty years ago, give or take.

Oh, you don’t have to be shy. The old Dunmer isn’t here to condemn you for your gossip.
And he is rather old, no matter what he tries to tell you.

In any case, if you have a moment, you should talk to his brother, Trevyn. Let him know what his “Elder” has been up to.

You’re from Ylldraheim?
Not originally, but yes, I was there for a decade or two.
I’m not sure how long, to be honest. It’s hard to really quantify time here. It’s one of the island’s quirks.
Probably because no one bothered making a calendar.

What’s your role here?
I’m the first mate, officially. Really I’m just here for my own amusement.

You’re dressed differently than the others.
Oh, I don’t do feathers. It doesn’t really work for me as an outfit.
I understand it’s a theme for the group. They aim to fly like birds, so they opted to dress like them.
I didn’t have the heart to tell any of them they look like a bunch of Forsworn.

Do you plan on flying with the rest of the crew?
Ha, do you mean, am I planning on plummeting ten thousand feet to my untimely death?
No. I think not. Luckily, we’ll need people on the ground to help nudge the ship off the mountain.
As first mate, I’ve elected myself to perform this noble sacrifice.
Then while the other volunteers grab the ropes to climb onto that sinking ship, I’ll simply let go of mine and get left behind.

How did you come here?
I may not look like much, but I’ve always had the heart of an explorer.
It’s why I came to Ylldraheim in the first place.
So when I heard a rumor about the settlement here, I took a boat and followed the light from the signal forge.
As it turns out, the crew was without a first mate, so I naturally volunteered myself for the position.

Hellos

Excellent work finding that wheel. I’m not sure how helpful it’ll be when they careen off the mountain, but at least they’ll have something to grip.

I don’t really consort with the rest of the crew, except when I need a laugh.

(this links to a webpage automatically but it’s not the captain in this quest)

The Captain is very determined to leave the island. Just as I am determined to profit off it.

How long do you think it’ll take for them to wash ashore after they crash? A week? Two? There’s things on that ark I want, after all.

Post main quest

The supplies are loaded Captain. We’re ready to leave when you are.

Then tell the men to weigh anchor and get ready to set sail.

(to player)

Fancy seeing you here.

I know I said I wasn’t leaving the island, but that was before we were sailing on an actual boat, and not a death trap.
