If you plant bad seeds, you get a bad crop. Same goes for people.

Wars happen, children weep and people die. But the band plays on.

Even at the end of the world, death lives.

I live by a simple creed. You got debts, pay ’em. You got problems, fix ’em. God gave you a mind, use it.

I got scars. Some you see, some you can’t. That’s life.

Some might call life a journey. Others might call it a pit. All you can do is step forward, and hope you don’t fall in.

Life hasn’t been fair. But so what? I’m no one special.

Doesn’t matter if you’re a farmer, a sailor, or a priest. You’re always praying for good weather. Now if we can just settle on what that word means.

They say you can’t draw blood from a stone. Well, it’s still easier than getting things to grow on this soil.

Every farmer’s gotta believe the rain’ll come. If he didn’t, he wouldn’t be a farmer.

There’s something satisfying about growing your own food.

We poisoned Mother Nature, and now we’re paying for it. Just gotta hope she learns to forgive.

My pa was a farmer, and his pa before him. It’s in the blood.

I don’t do much reading. The only time I have is for work.

It’s important to have food you can grow. A lot easier to chase down a carrot than a squirrel.

I don’t believe in drinking moonshine or liquor of any kind. I like to keep a clear body and a clear mind.

Hearts were made to be strong. The world was designed to break ’em.

I fell in love with a girl, a long time ago. And then she was gone.

(alternate) I fell in love with a boy, a long time ago. And then he was gone.

What do you need to start up a farm?
You need guts. Determination. I guess a few seeds wouldn’t hurt either.

You out here all by yourself?
That’s right. Me and the dog and that’s it.
Now, I used to have my son with me. But farm life got too small for him. So the fool ran off to the city.
(sigh) I told him countless times there’s nothing but death out there. But I guess he wanted to see for himself.
