Zarlak is a former Greybeard who espouses the use of violence. He sees aggression as a tool, but one that can only be used by those who show the requisite wisdom. Zarlak is loosely associated with both The Conspiracy of the 7000 Steps, by virtue of the book he keeps at North Skybound Watch. He is also the father of Helsig and Offryn. Taking Helsig to him will induce a short scene where he asks her whether Offryn has been killed.
