Fenced In

FencedIn
Fenced In is a miscellaneous quest that can be accessed only by having completed the Bite the Hand That Feeds You quest. To begin the quest, simply speak to Morndas when she is recruited as a follower. She will mention needing to go to Riften to fence some gear. The fence, an Argonian by the name of Swims-In-Wind, can be found just off the temple of Mara, near the gate leading to the backyard of Riftweald Manor.

Morndas, as it turns out, has no need of Swims-In-Winds’ services; rather, the Argonian has need of Morndas. A criminal in Markarth named Jeerah-Nur has reportedly taken hostages and holed himself up in a trap-filled cave. There is a catch, however- whenever a trap is sprung, a hostage dies.

Rather than care about the hostages themselves, the fence explains that one of the hostages is in possession of a valuable fur contract, one that Swims-In-Wind wants to go to his supporters.
The job, therefore, is two-fold; infiltrate the cave without killing all of the hostages, and replace the real fur contract with a forged one.

Morndas declines, saying that she hasn’t been up to snuff ever since Lurgok bit her hand. The Redguard then offers the Players’ services in her place. The Dragonborn can then choose to accept the job in its entirety, to only save the hostages, or to decline the whole thing (note that this decision doesn’t actually impact anything in terms of the quest).

The fugitive is in Cragfoot Cave, sandwiched in-between the ruins of Valthume and Arkngthanz.

The dungeon has literally an obscene amount of traps in it, so avoid stepping on any of the circular rune tiles on the floor, as most of the traps are triggered that way. In addition, avoid taking any books you might find on pedestals, as those trigger traps as well (if you wish to obtain them, do so after the hostages have been rescued). Be aware that NPCs (such as Morndas and the group of bandits found inside the cave) can also trigger the traps, so don’t let them step on the tiles either. Once the Dovahkiin is in sight of the hostages, Jeerah-nur will appear and proceed to attack his captives. Deal with him, and then either take the real contract and plant the false one, or speak to the captive and release him.

If the player chooses to let the captive go, they will receive a reward from the merchant (some gold and a potion recipe). Talk to Morndas, then head back to Swims-In-Wind and the quest will be completed.

Instead, if the one decides to plant the contract, talk to Morndas, then head back to Riften and speak to Swims-In-Wind for your reward of gold and gems- and, of course, another completed quest.
