As promised, here is the first of ten weekly updates before the release of version 3.05. Obviously, if I feel an unvoiced quest like Immortal Coil is on the verge of being fully voiced, I’ll delay things an extra week or two, but only if we’re on version 3.04.9. Otherwise, it will be released every Monday.
The releases will be cumulative. You don’t have to download every week. Version 3.04.2 will include everything in version 3.04.1. Moreover, the zips will be packaged with both the Main file and the Hearthfire patch. The Dawnguard patch is unnecessary since you aren’t overwriting any vampires with this update.
3DNPC v3.04.1 UPDATE [Requires Installation of 3.04]
New NPCs
• Geel-Jah (Matthew Dixon) and Torveld (Ryan Cooper) [Here are Torveld’s voice files if he isn’t speaking]
Fixes and Tweaks
• Black Robes (Silent, Beta Quest) – Telling Anum-La to Wait at the Mourner’s Den will cause her to wait there forever if Lattimore is sent to Winterhold upon completion.
• Improper condition for Meresine upon meeting.
So with this, after lurking around interesting NPCs and following development for the past year, I will actually install it and try it out for the first time.
I like the new format. This will ensure that bugfixes are brought to the table quickly to mod users. I imagine it can be a bit taxing for you though, Kris.
Just for those that may not realize it, this is not NMM friendly. You will have to extract it and install from file or rebuild the zip with the proper folder structure.
Love the mod and looking forward to more updates! Would appreciate a contact from an author though, Gorr seems to be broken or not cooperating with another mod (suspect broken, but other issue is possible). When I “Release” him from following, his dialogue shows he is still a follower, but he no longer follows. (v3.04)
additionally, no other 3dnpc follower seems to have this issue which is why I suspect a script error.
Check the video. It works flawlessly. They all use the same script, one copied from the other.
Well, the follower system is an exact clone of vanilla. Line for line. When you release him, it removes him from the currentfollowerfaction, for which his follower dialogue is conditioned. If there’s something buggy about the system, then there’s something buggy about the vanilla game’s script.
The more likely explanation is a follower mod conflict – because other mods may not be aware my custom system exists, and vice versa. Therefore things can get wacky because neither is accounting for the existence of the other. Patches will likely have to be created on their end, because I don’t know enough about scripting. Hence, I copy all my stuff directly from vanilla. This is good because it ensures the scripts are safe. It’s bad because when compatibility issues crop up, I can only shrug because of my limited powers.
Just downloaded the update, I also use Hearthfire Comp. patch… Does the 3.4.1 esp file work with Hearthfire, Kris?
Open up the file. You’ll see the patch is in there.
Doh!
I got it installed. Thanks.
I went thru Black Robes, and the Anum-La no longer stays a follower, so that fix worked great! No she goes back to riften and just stands by the Armorer, Balimund for some reason. No dialog, and I can not get her to move if I ask her to join me as a follower again… actually, she joins, “lead brave one, and I will follow”, follower count does not increase, and she does not move from her spot…. Here is the results of running sqv blackrobesquest (http://www.mediafire.com/view/1wf942pn9cfxdpf/ConSkrybe.log)

Okay, I’m not sure what the issue is, but I think I’m just going to stop the quest completely and move the post quest dialogue somewhere else so it still runs.
Oh, I didnt want to spoil anything, so I skipped a step, here scene finishes up Grelka, and then upon returning to Riften, she is waiting at Balimund’s…
Yeah, if I stop the quest, any “black robes” related stuff will stop completely, packages, dialogue etcetera. I should be stopping it anyway to save resources. But I was lazy and didn’t want to move post-quest dialogue elsewhere.
Her going to Balimund is a package that is supposed to run if Grelka is dead.
She is not…
Yeah, which is why I don’t really get it, but whatever, it will all be shut down anyway.
