3DNPC FO3 Bundle v0.06 DOWNLOAD
Changelog from v0.05
- Dot’s Diner – Substantially lowered the difficulty of the fight
Here’s an update for the Fallout 3 bundle. For the next episode of 10 Quick Things, I decided to play through one of my favorite quests from the bundle, Dot’s Diner, and noticed that the difficulty was fairly over the top. So I lowered the number of ghouls from 10 to 7, and lowered the level of the Glowing Ones from 9 to 7 as well. Should make for an easier slog, and as an added bonus, it should prevent the game from crashing due to too many NPCs.
Hello, big fan of your Fallout 3 bundle considering how few good quest mods are out there for it, and yours is certainly one of if not the best. Do you have any further plans to expand the bundle, or would you say you’re happy with it at this point? Thanks.
Probably not, unless there was a quest or idea that absolutely couldn’t be done in Fallout 4.
Fallout 3/NV are generally harder to do scenes in, you have to put in a lot of failsafes to make sure they don’t break. The one advantage is the non-voiced protagonist, but that doesn’t prevent quest construction as much as it prevents just having longer, forked dialogue and conversations before the next phase of the quest.
Hello, I just downloaded and tried this mod, and I have a few problems:
The NPCs in Dot’s Diner have pale faces and black body. So does Slasher.
The Vault 101 questline is really buggy – first, the door to the ranch in Springvale was blocked (I don’t have any mod that would possibly cause this). Then the NPC in Riften was locked in a perfect cage, because the original stall stayed at its place – I overcame both of the issues through console, and then, when I went with Audrey to the underground, the door was blocked. I looked at this site and learned that Audrey is supposed to forcegreet me? Problem is, she never does and when I initiate conversation, she has just normal dialogue options. When I tried to use console commands, it told me that the quest with this ID (the ID on this page) doesn’t exist.
In the Andale Theater, I can’t receive the quest at all. I let play the scene, but when I talk to the man (I forgot his name), I have some dialogue options but none that leads to the quest.
I eventually ended up loading save from before starting the questline. I haven’t finished any other quests yet. (I have received Dot’s Diner and Death and Taxes, but I didn’t have time to finish them yet.)
My only other mods (I’m new to modding FO3) are Rivet City Billiard Hall and XB-1 – Tales of Wonder.
Any help would be much appreciated.
There’s a FAQ/bug report section, please use that, with a single thread for each report. That way people can locate similar issues/solutions.
FWIW I can say right now some of the things are for sure not replicable, like the gray face there’s a video in this post that shows the proper skin tone. Also, Alicia’s door works fine, it’s unlocked when x3DNPCMQ01b reaches stage 100, which is set when Audrey says “That’s just outside of Megaton. If we hurry, we can get there before they do.”
That unlocks the door and gives you the objective marker, as shown in this vid. So long as the line is said, the door is unlocked. Trying to figure out what went wrong for you starts with figuring out if the stage was set. If so, then the next thing to check is why the door didn’t unlock, which could be a mod that edits said door.
After all, things like the Rivet City stall are probably caused by conflicts with your Rivet City mod, it’s possible the mods you have edit cells in locations like Springvale and the tunnels causing things to break.
The Andale quest also starts just fine.
Granted, with scenes in FO3, they can break easily, so it is important to let them and the ensuing forcegreets play out, but usually there’s a failsafe anyway in case you break them. Hard to tell if that’s what happened without watching it though.
Regardless, by using the bug report “Ask a question” by clicking the header above, you can make a dedicated thread for each issue. It helps organize things and put threads in the proper place.
