Fallout NV Mods: The Blue Note

I haven’t really put as much effort into Fallout: New Vegas as I would’ve liked, for the simple fact that New Vegas itself is the more complete game. That isn’t a knock on Bethesda, because much like with modding, Obsidian had the advantage of building on top of an existing framework. The point is New Vegas already has followers, tons of DLC, and a mostly full landscape. Fallout 3 is just a game with more gaps to fill.

All that being said, there are some stories that just fit the world of Vegas better, and The Blue Note is one such quest. You’ll find it in Freeside, a quiet little club tucked away in a nameless alley, far away from the sleazier Atomic Wrangler and the neon suns of Vegas.

As I mentioned in the forum post, this is a blog download only, because it’s a bit of a bootleg production and would probably get banned from Nexus. Credit to nonoodles for building the interior cells and outfits. This has only been tested by yours truly, so it’s still in alpha. Please report any bugs by clicking the button in the header.

Here’s update 3.09.8 with a re-recorded Fironet. The previous version was done using a Blue Snowball, which is a commonly used condenser mic but has its flaws. This one was done with the Blue Yeti plus an isolation shield, and the results are much more clearer when compared to the previous trailer.

Alienslikechocolate also added another song, With Bells On, to Fironet’s repertoire. So even if you didn’t mind the old recording, there’s something new for you in this version.

All Fixes and Tweaks from v3.09:

  • Fironet re-recorded with Blue Yeti and added new song
  • Non MHDT and XCLW USKP changes forwarded (Thanks to Blattgeist for the list)
  • Fixed bug where reading Keerava’s innkeeper note to meet the Among-the-Hist skipped his initial dialogue
  • Added missing texture for Mithril‘s wings
  • Had Sharlikran inspect the esp, found and cleaned up normal errors that the CK does to navmeshes
  • Dropped bass on Eldar‘s audio
  • Added option to kill Froa, Ariele, and Y’tharil before completing their respective quests
  • Treads-the-Ashes (Beta) – Fixed hiring and dismissal issues
  • Checked allow reserved box for most aliases to help with alias filling issues
  • Added failsafe in Pit Dogs if by chance Gorr attacks the Redguards from Hammerfell
  • Stolen Property can be started at Stage 60 or higher of the Forsworn Conspiracy(brawler should be done with by then)
  • Added script to remove Dro’bar‘s coin from your inventory
  • Removed objective markers in Spell it Out for Me on dead targets, added Lurgok as target and conditioned Lagdu’s marker to having started Brakh‘s quest
  • Alassea now requires a brief conversation at the Temple of Mara to qualify for marriage
  • Ability to tell Rumarin whether to use bow or sword
  • Added Wolves of Jorrvaskr to Alassea‘s playlist
  • Added temporary restraints to patrons in Pit Dogs so they don’t run around during the fight
  • Added script to Frodmar to bump Birds of a Feather to stage 20 in the event outside trigger fails to fire
  • Changed objective markers in A Spell for Rumarin to not show once completed
  • Changed Robber’s Refuge patron so she doesn’t have the name of a terrorist organization
  • Removed “A Warrior’s Life” from Ygglief’s list of duets
  • Upon completion of A New Dawn, Olivia and her acolytes are now removed from their factions allowing them to be raised as thralls without consequence.
  • Some unvoiced Valgus lines removed

Here’s a release with a re-vitalized Moris the Draugr. As I mentioned in the earlier post, you can still use the old files if you wish, just download them from the wiki page.
